Love the concept but structure needs improvement

This toy is neat and unique. My youngest (15 months old) is a huge fan of hiding things or taking them and seeing where they fit. It must be a developmental milestone because I'm always finding sippy cups of milk and food in very odd places. She is delighted with that game but I just can't share in the enthusiasm when I lose the game and find what she hid a few days later. Anyway, I was looking for a toy with a similar cause and effect concept to keep her entertained and we got this. She really likes it and I haven't found (or smelled) any disgusting food surprises lately so it must be working.
The description says that it's 5 inches high but that's actually the height of the sea creatures. The pelikan itself is approximately 20 inches.
What I don't like:
There are just four toys to feed the pelikan. I feel that the price ($24.99 when we purchased) was rather high for what you actually receive. The quality and stitching is excellent, like all M&D toys we buy, but we like a little variety! :)
One other thing that's rather annoying is that there is no structure inside of it so it slumps over. Having a weighted belly with some reinforcement in between the material on the sides would probably make this toy easier for little hands to play with.
Overall though, it's a pretty cool toy and the kids like it.

hollow bird is the love of my grandson's life

This soft, hollow bird is the love of my grandson's life! The body materials are soft and flexible and the toys that come inside the pelican are also soft and make different sounds. I got it for him at about 6 months of age and he just loved to hug and kiss it. Now that he is 1 year of age, he has mastered the idea of 'feeding' the pelican all the little toys and then pulling them out of the belly opening. His mommy and daddy enjoy playing with this too!!! Easily washable.

I should have done better reading and realized that this needs to be hung ...

I should have done better reading and realized that this needs to be hung up on a crib or somewhere like that. I thought it could stand up by itself like a stuffed animal. It's a cute idea but I wish it could stand up.
