This book consisting of eight chapters covers the main topics on industrial systems, system identification, nonlinear control design, optimal control, adaptive control, robust control and applications to variety of engineering systems.

This book provides a thorough "guided tour" of the various control design techniques applied to a variety of real world systems. Although, there have been a number of books [1-5] with the label "applied", the present book brings in under one cover an overview treatment of a number of the so-called "modern" topics such as system identification and estimation, and optimal, adaptive, robust, intelligent controls and to a spectrum of applications starting from distillation unit, steam generation unit, to unmanned marine vehicle, flexible bomber aircraft. Further, the book comes with not only numerous illustrative examples throughout the book, but also questions and MATLAB problems for some chapters which attracts graduate students and researchers not only for self-reading but also for use as a text book for advanced graduate students in disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, aerospace, and chemical engineering.

This book is an excellent addition to answer in many ways the concerns by many that "control" is only a "theory" and not "applied" field.
