Oh, Man. Such a Good Book!

This book really increased my confidence in knowing my meats & how to order from a butcher shop.

The photos are modern and make the book fun and easy to read. The book tells the story of the family business, teaches you all you need to know about meat, and also shows photos and good family recipes you're not likely to find anywhere else.

The chapters are divided into sections on veal, beef, lamb, pork and chicken - plus a whole chapter about chopped meat and sausage making.

There are decades of meat experience (buying, storing, maintaining, cutting, etc.) packed into this book along with his mother's (and his) personal recipes - as well as how to cook the perfect steak & ham.

I'm totally pleased with this book. And also can't wait to try one unusual recipe called Macaroni Pie.

This book will keep you up-to-date about the current culture of meat, plus raise your standards on how to get the best flavor for your food budget.

I can't imagine any restaurant chef or family cook not being completely pleased with this book. It will make a unique Christmas present to give to any guy you know.

My dad (an army cook and lifelong barbecue expert) would have loved receiving this book.

Missing the "everything", still need to know more....

Good information on meat, I like seeing the individual cuts shown one by one. My disappointment started was when I got to the dry ageing of the beef, and says the beef is "put on racks in a temperature and humidity controlled room". I feel like this is quite obvious and it would have been more informational to actually put temperatures and humidity levels to ensure its properly aged rather sticking a steak in your fridge for 21 days and expecting the to see the steak from the book. The whole reason I bought the book was seeing the grand photo of the dry age room thinking they might actually share some knowledge on how to do it properly.

My only other concern was seeing a few cuts of braised meat that were bright red. Braised meat isnt red unless you add curing salts. I can understand the author not including them in recipes to prevent people from using improper amount and getting sick. Just be warned if you braise a calf tongue according to the recipe in the book, Im sure it will taste great, just not the stunning red color you see in the book.

Really just splitting hairs about the meat color, like I said, very knowledgeable, just wanted more from the book.

This makes it user friendly in our world of rapidly expanding knowledge and seemingly shrinking time. Third, the book is an appropriate reference for persons in various stages of learning, from the medical student to the practicing cardiologist a range of interest much desired by authors and publishers, but rarely achieved. The American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association guidelines for the management of different cardiac conditions have unequivocally improved outcomes and have an appropriately prominent place in Cardiology: Handbook for Clinicians. Electrocardiography also occupies a conspicuous position in the text by dint of its noninvasive, inexpensive, diagnostic capabilities that have made it arguably the most important portion of the cardiovascular boardexamination. Outstanding work

I recently read with pleasure Dr Hanna's manual. Being a cardiology fellow, I have used in the past other cardiology manuals but I find this one more helpful and much easier to read and learn practical ideas from. I am really impressed. Clinical chapters are very well organized and thoroughly address practical dilemmas, some of which are not well addressed in major textbooks! The information is clear, well outlined and well referenced. The chapters on ACS and ACS pharmacology, stable angina, heart failure, arrhythmias, pericardial diseases, peripheral arterial diseases, pulmonary hypertension and syncope are simply outstanding. The ECG and echocardiography chapters are certainly a big plus in comparison to other available cardiology manuals. ECG criteria are clearly interpreted and well illustrated with plenty of examples, with an excellent approach to the analysis and differential diagnosis of ischemia on ECG. Also, there are over 55 thoroughly interpreted ECG and arrhythmias tests. The echocardiography chapter is also well illustrated and addresses practical caveats in valvular disease evaluation. The hemodynamic and coronary intervention chapters are compact and high-yield.
I believe this book would help cardiology fellows, certainly the junior fellows but also the more senior fellows like me (it will serve as a useful review). It would also help medicine residents and interested medical students. I wish I read such a book in my residency.

Excellent handbook!!!

I have reviewed this handbook,written by Dr Hanna, and find it to be extremely helpful.I am currently in my first year of fellowship and realized that this handbook serves my purpose well. The chapters are well laid out and the illustrations are excellent. The author seems to have a thorough grasp of the subject and is update with the latest trials in the field of cardiology.
The first few chapters on Ischemic heart disease are worth reading,just like the rest of the book. The ECG,cardiac catheterization and echo chapters are well written and for a new cardiology fellow it is of immense help. I use this handbook on a day to day basis and it answers most ,if not all of my questions.Of course,it is not going to supplement Braunwalds or other bulky textbooks ,but it sure does serve the purpose well,on a busy ward/unit/clinic days for a quick review.
I would have no hesitation recommending this book to all cardiology fellows and medicine residents and even general practioners.Excellent handbook of cardiology!!!

Avoid school daze with excited kangaroo school ways!

In this delightful little book a young child has the opportunity to learn what to expect on the first day of school. The book encourages question asking and answering, encourages activities that can be done during the reading and allows a child to glean useful tidbits about preparing for school and what might happen once there.

Manners discussed include crossing the street, riding on the bus and listening to the teacher. Other discussions include how to find the class and desk, what might be learned, how some things might be easy while others might take more time, recess and playtime, lunch, bathroom breaks and more!

BEAUTIFULLY illustrated with an appealing and expressive kangaroo. I would say this is a must for any young child getting ready for their first school experience.

About the Author
HANGEL MONTERO, (Miguel �ngel L�pez Montero). Nace en la ciudad de Motril en el a�o de 1.956. Desde muy temprana edad, cursa estudios de dibujo art�stico y modelado en la Escuela de Artes y Oficios de su ciudad natal bajo la atenta y dedicada direcci�n de D. Manuel Ligero, director del centro. Termina sus estudios superiores e ingresa en la Escuela Superior de Arquitectura de Sevilla. En dicha ciudad toma contacto con la pintura integr�ndose en un grupo de neo formalistas de la ciudad hispalense. Durante esta �poca descubre el retrato como forma de expresi�n pict�rica; a �l se dedica por completo, buscando siempre la integraci�n y aplicaci�n de nuevas t�cnicas al retrato convencional y cl�sico. En 1.975 funda la "Galer�a de Arte Hangel" en su ciudad natal, actividad que le permite conocer los entresijos del mercado del Arte y a multitud de autores, t�cnicas, estilos, etc. Durante este periodo y con posterioridad, Hangel Montero dirige y presenta un programa de cr�tica de arte para la Cadena Ser a la vez que presta su colaboraci�n para el diario granadino Patria igualmente como cr�tico de arte. Sin concluir sus estudios de arquitectura, se matricula en la facultad de Derecho de Granada; concluye la licenciatura y se colegia como abogado en los Ilustres Colegios de Granada, Murcia y Ja�n, profesi�n esta que en la actualidad conlleva con la pintura y la ense�anza. En 1.990 Hangel Montero se matricula en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Granada, naciendo desde este momento en �l una aut�ntica obsesi�n por buscar y estudiar los secretos del Color, sus fundamentos, t�cnicas y claves para aplicarlas en sus obras. Durante la �ltima d�cada ha dirigido sendos talleres de pintura impartiendo clases de �leo, acuarela, dibujo, modelado y color. No muy amigo de exponer, no ha cesado de hacerlo en colectivas e individuales all� donde le ha sido propuesto, habiendo tenido la suerte de exponer obras suyas en Arco+Sur (Granada) y en ciudades tan destacadas como Barcelona, Madrid, Granada, Sevilla, C�rdoba, M�laga, Zaragoza, Valencia, Murcia, Ja�n, Valladolid, Viena, Barquisimeto, etc. Su obra, casi en su totalidad, se encuentra en colecciones privadas e instituciones p�blicas que se extienden por toda nuestra geograf�a. En la actualidad dirige Hangel ArtStudio en su ciudad natal, donde imparte clases de �leo, acr�lico, acuarela, y color.
