Don't bother, it's not really about how type and design influence behavior

Just picked this up from the mailbox today. Meh. Not worth the money (If I had looked at this in a bookstore, I would have put it down after 20 seconds and walked away). The title is a complete cheat, there is no analysis of how behavior is influenced. Quite a lot of the samples are not in english, although the book is in english. So you can't really interpret those messages, part of what makes type work is READING it. A lot of the images seem like student exercises. It's going back today.

Great for preschool/early elementary age

I bought this because we already have 'Dragon Day' that we picked up somewhere and my 4-year-old LOVES it. I was excited when I found another one with the same characters. I'm not sure exactly why, but I find Dragon Day to be a little more enjoyable than Search for the Dragon Queen, but Dragon Queen was still really good. The pictures are bright and colorful, and a lot of the different outcomes are silly, which is perfect for 4-6 year olds. We read these CYOA books together and my son thinks it's great to be able to decide what the characters will do next.

A different perspective

Grew up during this conflict and remember seeing a lot of confusing coverage on the evening news. When I was older, I picked up the book after seeing a few episodes of the series on TV. It really opened my eyes as to what was happening globally at the time, as well as the North Vietnamese perspective on the war, which is critical to understanding the entire conflict.I recommend it to anyone looking for some hard facts on what really happened over there.

Ho Chi Minh was brilliant

I was in college in the mid 1990's and my prof made this book mandatory. The book starts a few days before the second WW ended. It is politically neutral and covers everything about Vietnam until the 1970's. In my final report at the end of the last chapter I concluded that Ho Chi Minh was one of the smartest humans that ever lived. It's to bad FDR sent him to the communist side.
